Digging In: German Television
You may have picked up on the the scandal: Gazan freelance photographers for the AP and NYTimes. They seem to have been informed in advance of the Oct 7 attack, and accompanied the Hamasnikim on their rampage.
This twisted perspective then is consumed by the Western news. (At least one had "trophy" photos taken of himself.)
The amount of falsification from Gaza is stunning. "Bomb craters" that are actually collapsed tunnels. The Islamic Jihad missile that fell at a hospital early on. And now:
German television broadcasts an exposé about the "journalist" Saleh Al-Jaafari who appears in Gaza each time in a different role and sells content to major media outlets in the world. In German, 1 minute
TV from Gaza
In this one minute clip, from southern Gaza, Hamas operatives are commandering a shipment of humanitarian aid and beating with sticks ordinary folks who are trying to get a box.

Hello everyone, yesterday I went to help a farmer.
This gentleman is on the brink. I am not joking. He's practically all alone. He is 73 years old. He has 100 strawberry plots to clear before they can bloom in 10 days. He's really all alone. Some Thais help him but they are not part of his own workforce.
There used to be Palestinians who worked for him, but he fired them In fact, a plot can be cleaned by 2 people And only lasts 1h30 but the work is quite intense because you have to bend down You don't need to form groups to go there just be 2 people to make a plot You can go there whenever you want, preferably in the morning because of the sun that beats down afterwards. The place is right here between Netanya and Telmond it's really not far I am attaching his contact details. If you had the idea to help him. There is a group forming on Sunday, but this group is not enough and you don't need to join it. You can go there whenever you want. It's up to you to decide, but above all you must not delay because it would lose all its strawberry production. And this gentleman would experience bankruptcy Thanks in advance His name is Itshak 0509--- ----
I forgot... This man is one of those men who saved the State of Israel in 73 at the Yom Kippur War. He was 20 years old. He is one of the paratroopers, under the orders of Ariel Sharon, who defeated the Egyptians and saved the State of Israel.
Idea Of The Day
Dissolve the entire Israeli Knesset and cabinet. Replace them with citizens who lost or had family taken in the attack. Some of them have become beacons of leadership. (credit: A.K.)
Raf has been thinking about observed structural issues with electoral politics (which tends to appeal to narcissists). Is it time to use a lottery, as suggested in this NY Times Magazine essay by Adam Grant (PDF here).

I am back in Tel Aviv. It's warmer. The streets feel "on the way to normal."
That is the news.
